Kids and the Kingdom
If you have kids, know a kid, or ever were a kid, then what I am about to say will come as no surprise: they can frustrate us at times. One look at a weary mom or dad gives you all the proof you need. In the same way, kids can make us laugh - hysterically so, in fact. I remember, not so many years ago, when Joaquin asked me (Brian, the former Associate Minister here), with complete sincerity, "Daddy, why do you have Charlie Brown hair?" As much as it hurt my pride, I couldn't help but laugh and start telling people all about it. I'm sure you have funny stories about things you've heard kids say as well. But there is another thing kids do for us, something we don't always stop to think about, and it's this: kids teach us a lot, especially when it comes to following Jesus. They teach us about who God is, how he operates, and what that means for us, and all without even trying! It really is remarkable to think about, and we'll be doing just that this Sunday. I hope we see you here for worship at St. Patrick. It's good to be back!Grace & Peace,Brian
