God to the Rescue!

One thing we all love is a good rescue story. I know I do. My heart gets tugged in a thousand directions--a mixture of anger and sadness as someone's joy is robbed by the evil of another, the suspense of wondering how (or if!) they'll be rescued, and then the elation and relief of seeing the hero save the day. It doesn't get much better than that, whether the hero is of the "super" variety, or a person just doing the right thing.

So what if I told you that the key to joy, to peace, to hope and to significance is found in a rescue story--a true one? Good news! It is, and it's found in Scripture. Throughout God's Word, this story gains shape and texture until it explodes in the person and work of Jesus. But even before he arrives on the scene, the stage is being set. This week, we'll see the Great Rescue Story come to life in God-sized proportions, and we'll see some of the clearest pointers in the entire Old Testament of who Jesus was and what he did, all found in the story of the Exodus. Join us this week as we continue through our current series, The Story of God.

Grace & Peace,
Brian
