When the Wine runs out

Jesus chose to start his public ministry at a very peculiar place - a wedding feast. If you had three years to save the world, every second of your time would be precious and would need to be calculated for the maximum impact. If you are like most world leaders you would show up at something like a wedding feast just for the photo opp, to kiss a few babies, glad hand some folk, and then gather up your secret service detail and leave to get to the real work of changing the world. But, Jesus is not like most leaders that started something that will change the world.

Jesus does indeed show up at a wedding feast, but not to eat and run. A wedding feast in those days would be a three day affair. None of this peanuts and punch stuff, this was serious stuff. Three days of feasting and drinking. So, Jesus took his new disciples, who he told to follow him and that they are going to change the world, and the first thing they do is spend three days feasting at a large party. They must have been scratching their heads.
Then the wine ran out! And when it did, Jesus took front and center, and what he did is actually better than you would imagine. I know it is Fourth of July weekend and most of you are not going to be here. Heck, I would be out of town too, if Brian was still here. But if you are here, this week will be a treat, better than you can imagine.
If you are traveling, blessings to you and be sure to give thanks for our country, shoot some fireworks and feast to the blessings we enjoy in America.
Blessings,
Jim
