Thanksgiving

Next week signals a different rhythm in the the church and for all of us. Next week we start the most festive time of year, a season of feasting and merry making. Appropriately, it starts with Thanksgiving.I say appropriately because all true feasting and festivals are rooted in deep thanksgiving to the deity. This is doubly true in Christianity, because we celebrate the astonishing fact that God became flesh, he actually became one of us!So, as you gather this week with family and friends, remember what James says, “Do not be deceived, my beloved brothers. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.” (James‬ ‭1:16-17‬).May we all enter this season of Advent with thankful hearts!Blessings,Jim
