Opening Day!
Well, after 17 years the big day has finally arrived. After wandering around Collierville in Trains, basements, library rooms, condemned churches, renovated churches, trailers, and a renovated warehouse—we are home! At least as home as one can be before we get to heaven. I can’t tell you how thankful I am for God’s provision and for all the mutual sacrifice that has taken place for us to be a place that is absolutely beautiful! This Sunday please plan on being here for our first worship service and also invite your friends who are have been asking about when our first service is. We will put up a banner next week with times and announcing our opening on the 27th. I can’t tell you how glad I am people talked me out of having our grand opening on our first service. If you were here on Wednesday night you know we have some sound issues to work out. How God would supply for our needs has been what is really amazing. Several churches have donated sound panels, and carpet runners to help with our sound until our sound panels come in!It seems every church knows what it is like when you first move in until you get the building “tuned.” I say this because I know many of you were discouraged by the sound. Well rest assured, we have acoustical experts working on it. So if the sound is not perfect on Sunday this is a work in progress and it might take a few weeks but we will have the building “sounding” as beautiful as it looks. So be an encouragement and if it is not perfect on Sunday, just look around and just thing—we could be back in a warehouse! So before we arrive tomorrow, we need lots of hands tomorrow at the old church building to help us finish the move. We have had a great week this week, but honestly, this was a lot bigger job than we imagined. So I am asking each of you to come to the church tomorrow. We will start at 7:00 AM and if everyone shows up we will all be home by noon to watch football! Seriously we need your help, so plan on coming for at least a couple of hours. Bring trucks, trailers, hammers, and other such implements of work.I look forward to seeing you all tomorrow and then on Opening Day!Blessings,Jim
