Next Steps
Easter is over and we are back into a fairly regular weekly rhythm at St. Patrick. I was glad to see my crew and lots of new folk at Grease & Grace Tuesday morning. The conversation was lively on Wednesday as my Community Group was back at my house after being away for a week. On Thursday, I caught up with a different group of folk that I see regularly at On Tap. I love the excitement of Holy Week, the different order of things, and more worship services that help us to look at the death and resurrection of Jesus in a more focused way. But I always love coming back to a weekly rhythm of mission, ministry, and community. That is what life at St. Patrick looks like - learning to live out faith in healthy rhythms and habits of grace. We do have a ton of new folk who are checking out what is happening here and so allow me to let you in on some “Next Steps.” We really believe that to change and become more like Jesus you need truth, deep community, and people you know who have “a life worth imitating.” Just to say that means that at some point you have to jump in and get to know people. I know that is hard, but we do have several things coming up that are easy to access, where you can get to know people in this community and get a taste of a robust life around here. For guys, on Monday night at 6:00 we have Meatssentials. Bring your older boys and join a bunch of men enjoying good food, good conversation, and a brief message about the gospel. Next Sunday, there is a lunch after church for people who have just started attending where you can meet staff and ask questions. If you want to dive in a little deeper, we are starting an “Inquirer’s Class” before worship on Sunday, April 17th (it has five classes and covers who we are, what we believe, and how you can find a place here). And, toward the end of the month (April 30th) we will have our annual Crawfish Boil. So, if you are interested in knowing more about St. Patrick there are lots of places you can jump in, which are low risk and highly relational. Or check out the church website for other places where you can connect. I hope you are finding Jesus in the mundane. After all that is where we live and it is where Jesus really loves to show up!Blessings,James M. Holland
