This Sunday we welcome Dr. Charles McGowan to St. Patrick.  Dr. McGowan is no stranger to our church and most of you know him simply as Martha Murphy's dad. If that was all he was, his resume would be impressive indeed! But, I will tell you the rest of the story. Dr. McGowan has been about as useful as a man can be over the past fifty years of ministry. He has planted a church, started a couple of Youth Conferences, and served as Moderator of his denomination, the Presbyterian Church in America. He has served on numerous boards around the country and, after he retired from being Senior Minister for fifteen years at Christ Presbyterian Church in Nashville, he founded a ministry called McGowan Search, which helps local churches find the best minister for their community of faith.So, thanks Martha for the connection! St. Patrick gets a real treat having Dr. McGowan with our community and you get a visit with your Dad.Blessings,Jim(from somewhere in Florida)
